Refresh, Restore, and Enhance your skin
Our skin is remarkable, protecting our bodies from the outside world and repairing itself every day. However, with age, lifestyle, and environmental factors, like sun damage, smoking and poor diet, the condition of our skin deteriorates.
The Restylane range of products is designed to help to:
- Restore volume lost to aging for a youthful appearance
- Enhance shape and definition for a balanced presentation
- Treat specific facial areas such as cheeks, mouth/nose folds, lips, and around the eyes
- Refresh and improve the condition of your skin for a radiant and hydrated skin
The broad range of Restylane products used by healthcare practitioners helps to provide a treatment program tailored to your individual needs.
The Restylane dermal filler gels resemble your body’s hyaluronic acid and are specifically designed to work within the different layers of the skin to replace or restore facial volume and improve the quality and integrity of your skin. Dermal fillers are non-permanent, putting you in control of the way you look.
Why Does Skin Age?
As we age, our skin loses fat, collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which offer facial volume and support. The bony structure and the muscles also lose capacity. Over time, we start to see the formation of lines, wrinkles, and folds, as well as the loss of mass, showing the visible signs of aging.
Aging and wrinkles are the results of many factors. Over time, natural cellular changes cause the depletion of collagen and water within the skin. The skin loses elasticity and begins to sag into lines and wrinkles.
Genetics, sun exposure, and lifestyle also play a role in the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging. Some creases, such as vertical lines between the brows, are the results of frequent muscle contractions repeated over many years.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Most dermal fillers are a clear gel consisting of a product that can be found in the body. This substance occurs naturally in the skin and plays an essential role in its volume and elasticity. This substance is lost during the aging process, causing the skin to sag into wrinkles. There are also dermal fillers containing other synthetic formulations.
How Do Dermal Fillers Work?
Injectable wrinkle fillers can give you a more youthful look for a fraction of what a traditional facelift cost. Most will fill lines and wrinkles in less than 30 minutes with results that can last nine months to more than a year.
As a result, trouble spots nearly disappear. Wrinkle fillers can also be used as “volumizers,” plumping and lifting cheeks, jawlines, and temples; filling out thin lips and plumping sagging hands. The treatment is fast and easy. However, all wrinkle fillers have downtime, including the risk of allergic reaction and the formation of tiny bumps under the skin.
Who Is a Good Candidate For Dermal Fillers?
There is no gender or age restriction so that you can be male or female of any age. The best candidates for this or any other cosmetic procedure are non-smokers with a realistic expectation of the results. The reason non-smokers are excellent candidates is that their bodies tend to heal faster and because the sucking and squinting motions you make when smoking will exacerbate fine line and wrinkles and make the results less long-lasting.
How long do the effects of the Treatment last?
As Restylane is a non-permanent injectable product, the effect gradually diminishes with time. To maintain the aesthetic result, top-up treatments are recommended. Results may vary depending on treatments areas.
What Can I Expect After Dermal Fillers?
After treatment, you will receive post-treatment guidelines. It is normal to experience some post-treatment discomfort, such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising, or tenderness at the treatment site. These side effects generally disappear within one week after injection.
Other potential side effects can occur with dermal filler or Skinboosters injections. It would be best if you discussed the possible treatment risks with our Doctor. Following treatment, there is sometimes a need for a touch-up treatment to achieve an optimal result.
Should I apply or Avoid after the treatment?
Avoid applying makeup to the skin immediately after treatment.
- The light cover-up may be used to conceal any remaining redness after approximately 24 hours
- A yellow-toned concealer may be used to hide signs of bruising
- To cover up any redness, a concealer with a slight green/yellow tone is recommended
Q. Are there any side effects after having Dermal Fillers?
Ans: The most common side effects occur within 24 hours or immediately post-treatment. These include swelling, bruising, redness, and tenderness. Immediate side effects usually disappear within days. However, depending on the type of dermal filler used, it can take a few weeks. Our Doctor is available for follow-up consultations if you have any concerns.
Q. How long do Dermal Fillers last?
Ans: Dermal fillers can last up to nine months to 1 year and in some cases longer. Lips are a high activity area as we use them all the time; this can impact how long the results will last. Please speak to your Consultant about this.
Q. I’m booked set for cosmetic injections. Do I have to do anything beforehand?
Ans: Avoid vigorous exercise or any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours as this escalates the threat of bruising. A week before the treatment of aspirin and VITAMIN E ANTIOXIDANT shouldn’t be taken one.
Q. Is Botox a facial filler?
Ans: Many of our patients who are interested in facial fillers are interested in Botox as well. However, Botox isn’t a facial filler. Instead of filling lines and wrinkles, Botox works by gently immobilizing muscles in the face to prevent additional wrinkles from forming.
Despite their differences, Botox can be used to enhance and prolong the effects of facial fillers. This is because pads break down over time whenever the muscles surrounding the injected area are used. Since Botox acts as a muscle relaxer, the liners are unable to it break down as quickly, which helps the skin remain wrinkle-free and youthful for a more extended period.
